Suresh K. Goswami’s New Novel Brings Attention to Plight of Kashmiris

Maharashtra, India (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 Author Suresh K. Goswami takes inspiration from the real-life struggles of Kashmiris fighting for their independence in his new novel, “Burning Sapphires” (published by Partridge India).

Set in the Valley of Kashmir, “Burning Sapphires” focuses on the adventures of Shahzadi Ghulab Sahib, a young girl who demonstrates extraordinary vision and strength through her will to survive and overcome the unimaginable atrocities committed against her family and her community.

After navigating a maze of grueling, fateful events, Shahzadi Ghulab Sahib matures into a woman of great knowledge, substance and experience. She takes charge of millions of Kashmiri Muslims trapped in the Valley of Kashmir and 500,000 displaced Kashmiri pandits living as refugees in their own country.
With Shahzadi Ghulab Sahib emerging as a modern-day messiah, millions of Kashmiris are led toward a life of contentment, dignity and pride.

An excerpt from “Burning Sapphires”:
“A dark melancholy had befallen the village. They mourned not so much for poor Badru but for the miserable destiny they knew would soon dawn upon them from the depths of the dark forest, where no one dared to venture any more. It was home to the mysterious demons that walked and danced, playing with their guns and spitting fury where ever they went.”

Author Eldho Kochery Chakkappan Pens about Suicide Terrorism and How to Deal with It

KERALA, India (PRWEB) July 27, 2013 In Suicide Terrorism - A Solution, (published by Partridge India) author Eldho Kochery Chakkappan talks about terrorism and the best way to curb it.
It is not uncommon to see and hear news about terrorist attacks from different part of the globe. The fear of these violent acts has only increase alarmingly since the past decade. The devastating effect of suicide terrorism inspired Chakkappan to think about suicide terrorism. He was more inquisitive in the matter because walk-in volunteers become suicide terrorists or suicide bombers. They take out their own lives. The maximum punishment under law which could be awarded for any criminal act in this world is death. In the case of suicide terrorist, they voluntarily decide to die and hence, the author believes, no legal steps or punishment could stop suicide terrorism and the remedy lies in the treatment for the cause which according to him is individual–oriented.

The reason behind suicide terrorism is essentially brainwash or religious indoctrination. Indoctrination or brainwash can lead to ignorance which includes blameless moral ignorance as well. Suicide terrorists acting out of blameless moral ignorance are not culpable and it is not correct we blame them. Teaching philosophy in schools from the primary classes as a compulsory subject is a solution to resolve suicide terrorism. It would be very helpful if philosophy as a subject in educational curriculum is introduced. Education on philosophy makes the individual sharp enough to understand the metaphysics and to develop logical skill to approach each and every situation in their life.

Very insightful and thought-provoking, Suicide Terrorism - A Solution will be a very enlightening read for readers who wish to make a difference regarding the campaign against terrorism.
